The Oscar nominated actor - who played a porn star in 'Boogie Nights' and used to strip to his underpants when he was a pop star - is always surprised by the attention he receives from his female fans.
Mark told BANG Showbiz: "It's ridiculous that people call me a sex symbol. I don't feel like that at all.
"My daughter would get a kick out of it - she'd find it very funny.
"I'll take it though. I'm very humble. But it's certainly not the way I feel."
The 35-year-old star, who has a three-year-old daughter Ella and a 12-month-old son Michael with his girlfriend Rhea Durham - also insists fatherhood has changed him for the better.
Mark - who says he has been arrested more than "20 times" and has experimented with a variety of drugs - said: "Fatherhood has changed me in every way shape or form, and all for the best."
Meanwhile, Mark Wahlberg has hit out at vain celebrities, insisting he can't wait to grow old reports Contact Music. The hunk insists most Hollywood stars are too wrapped up in their own image. He says, "I welcome old age. I embrace getting older - I'm really comfortable right now. I've worked with a lot of people who get caught up in this.".
In other news, Wahlberg is preparing for his new role as boxing legend MICKEY "IRISH" WARD by working with real fighters from his hometown Boston, Massachusetts. Wahlberg, who is set to play the junior welterweight in the upcoming film THE FIGHTER, has already been training for five months in order to get in shape for the tough-guy role. "I'm working with guys from Boston who are real tough nosed guys. Hopefully we'll shoot here (in London) and play out the SHEA NEARY fight where Mickey won the title."
