I cannot stand the government!!! They’re acting like people with serious health issues are lazy scroungers who need to “get back to work,” as if it’s just that simple.
It’s disgusting. Cutting things like PIP is cruel because that support isn’t even tied to employment. It’s there to help people manage extra costs and live with a bit more independence. Taking that away shows just how messed up their priorities are. They’re pinning the blame on the sick and vulnerable for all the financial problems the government can’t seem to fix. Meanwhile, they’re funneling money into public sector pay raises and, apparently, continuing policies that provide freebies to new arrivals—who might be drawn here for cheap labor in big companies—rather than properly addressing the needs of disabled people. It’s a slap in the face to those who’ve struggled enough already.
We should be standing by people who need support, not throwing them under the bus. If our society can’t help ill and disabled individuals live with dignity, then what the hell are we even doing? We’re supposed to be better than that. We’re supposed to protect those who need it most. But all I see is the same old story: politicians dividing people, picking easy targets, and distracting from their own failures.
I’m furious—like genuinely furious—because this is such cowardly behavior from those in power. They’re trying to make up for their own economic screw-ups by punishing the most vulnerable. That’s not how you run a fair country. Why on earth are we letting them get away with this?
So yeah, let’s talk about it. Don’t you think it’s time we stood up for ill and disabled people, instead of letting the government walk all over them and strip them of the help they deserve? Why should they have to keep fighting for basic support?
We can’t abandon them. We just can’t.
