“Turn All Churches into Mosques” to Save Migrants” says Italian Bishop

A former Italian bishop of Caserta, Raffaele Nogaro has reportedly said that “Morally and as a man of faith I would be willing to turn all churches into mosques if it were useful to the cause and if it helped to save the lives of poor and unhappy men and women, because Christ did not come to earth to build churches but to help men regardless of race, religion, or nationality,”

The former bishop also added, “And instead there are politicians who in their speeches continue to preach of deportations and the worst thing is that they do it with the crown and the rosary in hand and taking the name of God in vain, a very serious sin,”.

Whilst the former bishop is correct about helping people regardless of race or nationality and that politicians are wrong to deport people he is very wrong about getting rid of Churches to accommodate Muslims. It is made clear in the bible that only God can save people not good works. In my opinion, Raffaele Nogaro is putting more emphasis on “works” to satisfy his own liberal conscience when more than ever we should all be focusing on introducing people to Jesus who is the only one who can truly save someone. Salvation is for everybody not just for people who can afford to help the poor. To be saved you just have to choose to accept gods free gift but how can these migrants accept salvation if they do not know about it? Also, all glory from good works should go to God and this can only happen if the migrants being helped know to thank God when receiving help and you cannot do this if you “turn all churches into mosques” energizing the enemy.

Isa 45:22
“No one else can save a soul from Hell but God”

Heb. 9:28
“Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many. God won’t accept good works.”

Not only are his comments bad for migrants but they are also bad for Christians who might choose to listen to him.

Hosea 4:6
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children”.

His comments are very dangerous in a world that is seemingly every day falling more and more away from God.

What do you think?
