Rapper Nelly arrested for rape and released without charge

Nelly is has been booked and released without charge after being arrested in Auburn, Wash.
His manager Juliette Harris has also reveled via email that he will not be able to perfrom as scehduled on saturday at Ridgefield.

Nelly whos real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. was arrested after it was allagged that he was arrested on “suspicion of second-degree rape, indicating force was used or the victim was incapable of consent due to being physically helpless, mentally incapacitated or developmentally disabled.
Just before his arrest he tweeted:

Nelly is 42 and a three-time Grammy winner, and is most famous for his song Hot in Herre, which won the best male rap solo performance award in 2002. Nelly has previously been arrested and charged for drugs offences back in 2015 after a small amount of drugs was found on him in  Tennessee. However Nelly and his team strongly deny these current rape allegations.

His attorney has released a statement to USAtoday saying “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
