Google is highly political and enjoys lobbying governments across the world to push for its own agendas. During the Obama administration, Google saw unprecedented growth thanks to various secret meetings and dodgy deals. Google enjoyed nearly weekly meetings at the Whitehouse to push for what they want. All the lobbying that Google does has paid off for the company. Despite being one of the richest companies in the world is able to avoid paying BILLIONS in tax across the world and gets away with it with just a simple slap on the wrist.

To prove that Google is a monopoly you only have to look at the record-breaking fines they get for abusing their monopoly. In 2017, the EU handed Google a record-breaking $2.7 billion fine. Google had abused its position of EU market dominance to shut competitors out of its search listings.
In July 2018 Google is hit with a record fine €4.3bn in the EU for abusing its android monopoly to stifle competition. This is despite being fined by Russia the previous year for doing the exact same thing Google is also fined in Russia.

A leaked video titled the “The Selfish Ledger,” created by a Googler depicts a future in which Google doesn’t just collect data on users, but uses that data, ultimately with the goal of controlling peoples’ behavior.
