British Red Cross boss criticizes own charity for being too white and using cross

Not diverse enough to deal with Grenfell Tower tragedy

Mike Adamson the chief of the British red cross has basically said that their are too many white volunteers in the red cross and that he does not like the “cross” being used in the name because it has religious connotations.

Mike Adamson who earns £170,000 a year has undermined his own charity and even goes as far as to criticize his own volunteers for being too white in a blog post. He then uses this as an excuse stating that the lack of diversity was the reason the red cross could not help as much with the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

“There is no escaping the fact that with shining exceptions, such as our refugee services, we are nowhere near as diverse as we need to be in our volunteer base, our staffing or our leadership.”

“There is a risk that in a very diverse community like Grenfell, an organisation with the words ‘British’ and ‘Cross’ in its title is confused with a Christian establishment organisation,”

His statements are a pure insult to the hard work that volunteers at the British red cross do everyday for free.

In the blog post he also added that “That donations in a disaster can be much better managed”, maybe he should take a pay cut, that may help!

Despite what many may think about the Red Cross, the charity was never sert up as a Christian organization. The red cross found on the logo of the charity does not represent Jesus on the cross but simply a Geneva Conventions symbol of neutrality and protection in armed conflict and is based upon the Swedish flag. Despite the symbol not being christian the Ottoman Empire (modern-day Turkey) complained about the red cross being used as it apparently reminded them of the crusaders of the Middle Ages. So in 1876, they began using a red crescent instead a symbol of ISLAM!

If the British red cross was a Christian charity maybe the charity would not be having these problems and instead of focusing on silly liberal non issues would instead be focusing on helping more people.

It is evident that Mike Adamson has a pointless job and needs to write this rubbish just to try to make it look as though he is doing something to earn his obscene salary.

His blog post was simply racist and Christianphobic.

  1. oh wow…i think i actually was wondering that recently if the Red Cross was Christian…and Im glad I read it wasnt! I honestly wonder what God thinks of it when 170,000 donated to help the poor and hurting goes into his pocket…seems wild. I wish when you included the title of his article that you would have linked it to his actual blog post…so i could read it. Also, in some of your other posts as well, itd be nice to link back to your evidence in the article or at the end of your articles. Thanks! 🙂
