Eminem and ex-wife Kim Mathers have agreed to stop publicly criticizing each
The rapper - real name Marshall Mathers - and Kim attended a closed court
hearing at Detroit's Macomb Circuit Court yesterday (26.03.07) and agreed to
stop making "derogatory, disparaging, inflammatory and otherwise negative
The agreement was made following a motion filed by Eminem last month to
protect their 11-year-old daughter Hailie.
Eminem's lawyer, Harvey Hauer, said: "We're happy the court was able to
bring this matter to a just and equitable resolution."
Kim's attorney, Michael J. Smith, said: "The decision was reached for the
full benefit of the child.
"They have to attempt to promote a good relationship and can't talk bad
about each other to the child."
Kim had publicly accused the rapper of "slacking very much" with regard to
his parental responsibilities and claimed there is "nothing positive"
between him and Hailie.
In February, she appeared on Detroit's Wkqi-FM's 'Mojo In The Morning' radio
show where she revealed intimate details about their relationship.
She said: "I can't stand him. He's an absolutely horrible person, and he
gets worse every day. I vomit in my mouth whenever I'm around him or I hear
She also described sex with her ex-husband as "bad" saying, "He's not very
Kim added: "If you're going to have sex with Marshall, make sure you have a
little blue pill (Viagra), because otherwise it does not work."
The couple first married in 1999 but divorced two years later. They
remarried in January 2006 and Eminem filed for divorce in April of that
year. The divorce was finalized in December.
The couple also have custody of Hailie's cousin Alaina.
Eminem released a statement through his publicist Dennis Dennehy saying:
"It's a shame that I've moved on and Kim hasn't.
"Her ongoing press campaign is doing nothing but harm to the children, and
for that I feel truly sorry. For their sake I wish she would stop."
