Joshua Sutcliffe, 27, a Christian teacher has been suspended for “misgendering” a pupil at school. Apparently calling a trans pupil at school by her real gender rather than their pretend one.
The so called incident happened when Joshua Sutcliffe praised the pupil and HER friend by saying ‘well done girls’ not realizing that the girl “identifies” as a boy.
The child’s mother complained to the Oxfordshire secondary school about what he had done and the school suspend the maths teacher for ‘misgendering’ and he is due to attend a disciplinary hearing in the next few days.
In an interview with the Mail On Sunday he has said that he thought referring to the student as a girl was right but it was a genuine slip of the tongue when he did say it.
Also in the interview he explains that as a Christian he believes privately that it is wrong to call a someone born female a male, he also recognized “my responsibility as a teacher and Christian to treat each of my pupils with respect.
“I have balanced these factors by using the pupil’s chosen name, and although I did not intentionally refer to the pupil as a ‘girl’, I do not believe it is unreasonable to call someone a girl if they were born a girl.”
Appearing on this morning today hosted by Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Joshua Sutcliffe along with Andrea Williams, the Chief Executive of the Christian Legal Center who are currently supporting the teacher.
Both Joshua and Andrea were both grilled and vilified on the show for their beliefs as Christians by the two hosts.
Philip Schofield muttered to himself during the interview ‘Holy cow… I am finding this utterly abhorrent,’
In the interview Phil asked Andrea, “In your eyes, it is not possible to be born in the wrong body?”
‘No we are born male and female and we cannot change that, surgery cannot change that. The kindest thing we can do is to help the child with the gender identity disorder… and help them to live in the body that they have,’ said Andrea.
‘If they were homosexual would you help them not to be homosexual?’ asked Phil.
‘Very often when we see children identifying as homosexual, it is not good for them to live out in a such a lifestyle.’
Bigot Phil then closed the interview by quipping that they would now go ‘back to the show and back to 2017 and not medieval Britain’.
Sadly, whilst many Christians still stand by THE WAY, the church of England on the other hand has recently said that children should be allowed to decide what sex they are without judgment or derision from teachers.
