  • oh, and money.

Work out your budget, ideally weekly, monthly maximum time. Aside from fixed costs (rent, direct debits) use cash only. So take out £200 (example) for the week, and that’s it. Much easier to budget that way.

  • HI,

Been reading this thread… Speaking from personal experience so can only say what helped me.

You need to replace the alcohol with something, something to take its place, you need a motivation to not do it. As you have said running can help. That’s what i did, started running and eventually found out i actually liked it. It could be…[Read more]

  • Was the diagnosis made by your GP or a rheumatologist/orthopaedic consultant? If not go and see one to get proper investigations done.

I completely agree – my GP told me to give up running with the mildest of problems a few years ago. A physio specialising in sport would be my choice for advice going forward, but only after a definitive diagnosis…[Read more]

I tried to click on the ‘Facts’ link, but after the second pop-up preventing me from reading their page I have closed it and returned with extra resolve to my original response, which is this is the usual vegan deliberate misinformation pushing a ‘don’t kill the animals because they are cute’ agenda with complete disregard to any other principles…[Read more]

Relocated our electric metre around 15 yrs ago, wasn’t cheap but not prohibitively expensive either. (few hundred quid?)

I think cost depended on how far you were moving it, ours was just to the other side of a wall to get it out of the kitchen into the space under the stairs so pretty simple and done as part of a rewire.

Firstly, because that was the basis on which it was nationalised.

But also, I think banking is a competitive marketplace, and therefore the government does not need to be competing in this market place on a like for like basis. Because of uncertainty, it is probably undervalued, so now is probably not the best time to sell.

If RBS is set up to…[Read more]

If RBS is going to continue to be run as a normal full service bank then it should be returned to private ownership when the government can get good value. This may mean waiting until there is less uncertainty about mis-selling fines.

I think the government should only keep hold of RBS if it intends to create a new girobank to ensure that just…[Read more]

  • The fact that you are having to ask such questions makes me wonder if this is really the right investment for you?

In a nutshell whilst superficially the return can look attractive, it can be complex a minefield with a huge potential for hassle.

  • The number one tip that my brother and I were taught by Swiss mountain guides for walking uphill was to make the minimum noise with the feet. Noise is wasted energy. On smooth uphill inclines this means gliding the feet forward not far off the ground, really the opposite to stamping, i.e., lifting the feet no more than necessary (which seems to be…[Read more]

My email keeps on getting spammed with garbage like for example I got an email today from medium.com “My 3 Year-Old Just Asked Why Some People Are Gay” I don’t give a crap and I really do not read the liberal warped answer probably given to that 3…[Read more]
