Rooney Mara, the star of David Fincher's upcoming Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, graces the cover of this month's Vogue with a profile by Contributing Editor Jonathan Van Meter.

It's approaching midnight, and the June sun is winking on the horizon, still hoping to conjure one last moment of spooky beauty for the good people of Stockholm. Rooney Mara, David Fincher, and I are walking home from a two-bottle-of-wine dinner at their favorite café, around the corner from Ingmar Bergman Plats. Both of them have been living in Sweden, on and off, since the previous summer, shooting one of the most anticipated movies in years: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. As we pass the Royal Dramatic Theatre, where Greta Garbo studied as a teenager, Mara points to the clock tower in Gamla Stan, silhouetted in the distance, and reminds Fincher that when it strikes twelve it will be exactly one year to the day since he first auditioned her to play the part of Lisbeth Salander, arguably the most coveted role for an actress since Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind (another film adaptation of a wildly popular book featuring a shrewd, complicated, difficult-to-love heroine capable of slaying a man).
"Really?" says Fincher. "A year ago tomorrow?" He shakes his head in disbelief and then fishes a vibrating phone out of his pocket: "Hello, Amy." It is the co-chairperson of Sony Pictures, Amy Pascal, the studio head who, if this movie takes off, will surely get credit for having greenlighted the first truly adult franchise to come out of Hollywood since the early seventies, when movies like The Exorcist--not Twilight--were winning the terrified hearts of audiences everywhere.

JUSTIN Bieber is "shocked" Selena Gomez agreed to date him because of how good looking she is.
"I was pretty shocked myself. She's very beautiful. We started as friends like two years ago, so we've been friends for a long time, so that's pretty much kind of how it started," he said.
"I had a girlfriend when Selena was my friend. I think we should be talking about sports," he added.

CHRISTINA Aguilera fired from The Voice?
NBC has slammed reports CHRISTINA Aguilera to be axed from The Voice.
"There is absolutely no truth to the rumor," Paul Telegdy, NBC Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, said in an official statement.
According to reports Aguilera has already signed up for a second series of the show, but producers are said to be unhappy with her on the show and want to replace her.
"She doesn't spent time with her contestants like she's supposed to," a source said.
"She doesn't participate. She spends most of her time on the set with her boyfriend."

Lindsay Lohan defends super skinny Ali Lohan
Lindsay Lohan has revealed her mom, Dina isn't concerned with daughter, Ali Lohan's sudden weight loss, RadarOnline.com reports.
"Dina is adamant though that Ali is just going through a very big growth spurt, and there is absolutely no cause for concern," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. "If Dina thought for one moment that Ali was suffering from an eating disorder, or feeling the pressure to be thin, she would terminate Ali's modeling contract, and get her the necessary help. Ali is the one who has pestered her mom for years to get into the business. Dina held-off for years, but felt now the time was right for Ali to get into the business. As long as Dina isn't concerned, Lindsay isn't worried either."
Lindsay recently defended her sister on Twitter: "I love how haters pick on my sister yet every runway model is just as thin! My sister is gorgeous and I'm so proud of her and her career!!!!"
"Lindsay feels that people are just jealous of the Lohans and only want to focus on negative aspects of their lives," the source says. "Lindsay is giving Ali career advice, and telling her to ignore all of the negativity."

Somerhalder, 32, said there are "a million things" he loves about his girlfriend of more than a year.
"She truly enjoys life," he gushed. "Her desire to experience and appreciate everything around her, and chuckle and enjoy it, is great."
"When you're really close to someone, they can make fun of you a lot and get away with it," he said. "But they sort of poke you in all of the places -- it all makes sense because they know you so well and it really pisses you off, but it forces you to sort of be introspective and ask yourself, 'Wow, is that really how people see me?' Apparently so!"
Dobrev says of Somerhalder.
"He always has a positive outlook and positive energy, and he's always happy," she told Us. "He is a glass-half-full kind of guy, not half-empty."

"Ryan told Sandy she's the best friend a guy could have, but that he could never see her as anything more than that.
"And when he told Sandy he's still got a place in his heart for Scarlett, she was devastated and in tears."
"Ryan is the only father figure Louis has ever known," said the source.
"He even calls Ryan 'da-da' when they're together. Every time Sandy hears that, her heart melts.
"But Ryan doesn't want the sort of commitment Sandy wants. He just wants to be friends."
