Madonna is one of the richest women in the world, but all of her cash may not determine whether she can officially adopt David, the toddler from Malawi she took temporary custody of last year.

Last week Madonna proved that she won’t put up with anyone who speaks harshly about her children. On July 20, the 48-year-old popstar visited the set of her husband Guy Ritchie’s upcoming film, RocknRolla, bringing along her two-year-old adopted son, David. When she overheard a crew member making a snide comment about David, she did what any diva would do and had the person sacked.
The Ritchie clan is about to get bigger. Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie are planning on adopting a child, reports In Touch Weekly. The plans were heartily approved by Ritchie’s father, John.
According to the magazine, Madonna and Guy have already begun looking into adoption at California’s Vista del Mar Child and Family Services center. A insider said, "They've begun the application process and are currently undergoing an evaluation typical of adoptive parents. So far, they've been interviewed and fingerprinted to begin the process."
John Ritchie, who earlier this year spoke to the press about Madonna and Guy’s marital problems, said, "Nothing would make me happier than if they adopt. How lovely to have another one. I'm sure Rocco and Lourdes would love it as they are so close and another sibling would be super. It is the children that keep them together."
 | | Madonna and Guy want another child | | | | As a 47-year-old mother with a tour on the way, you wouldn’t think Madonna would be considering having another child right now, but sources are claiming that the popstar is doing just that. Amidst rumors of rocky times with director Guy Ritchie, Madonna is trying to prove to the world that she is just as happily married as ever.
Britain's Daily Star is reporting that Ritchie informed his wife that he wanted their son Rocco to have a little brother or sister. Guy’s father only just confessed in an interview that it was the couple’s love for their son and daughter Lourdes that has kept them together through hard times. Perhaps another child will ensure that their bond lasts even longer.
A source told the Daily Star, "[Madonna and Guy] are more in love than ever and having another baby will be their first priority. Although Madonna has a world tour coming up, she knows she is fit enough to be able to perform while pregnant."

Children and LA save Madonna's marriage |

Madonna and her husband of five years, director Guy Ritchie owe their marriage to their children (Rocco, 5 and Lourdes, 9) and to Los Angeles, says Ritchie’s father, John. John was interviewed for Closer magazine and revealed the truth behind the Madonna and Guy break up rumors.
"L.A. seems to have helped them,” 76-year-old John said. “It's easier out there because there is less pressure…They're able to go home at night and be together. They both want to see the children. They are going to have a good time out there and be a family.”
Addressing the rumors of a rift between his son and Madonna, John continued, "They seem to have left the bumps they were having over here behind them…You can never know that things will work, but they do seem to be fitting into each other more…It's the children that will keep them together. The children are everything to them.”

If you saw Madonna’s performance on last week’s Grammy awards, the last thing you’d suspect was that the singer was not in perfect form. However, Page Six is reporting the Pilates-enthusiast underwent surgery for a hernia at Cedars Sinai hospital shortly after the awards. Sources told the gossip column that the usually luminous material girl looked "pale and had no appetite." And during a visit to the Kabbalah Center Friday night, she "didn't eat anything . . . and did not lead the prayer after dinner, as she usually does when she comes. She was unusually quiet." Madonna’s health had better clear up soon. As she announced that she will be touring in the summer, she will certainly need to start rehearsing any day now.
Perhaps all the rumors that her marriage to director Guy Ritchie is on the rocks have contributed to her Madge-sty’s poor health. British newspaper, The People, reported this week that the rumors, more rampant in the UK than in the US, have helped to convince her to move stateside for a while. An insider told the paper, "[Madonna] feels like she is living in a goldfish bowl in Britain. She thinks an extended break will do them all the world of good and take the heat off for a while." The source insists that there is no chance that Madonna and Guy will be breaking up any time soon. "They argue like mad but it doesn't mean anything,” the informant said.

In Hollywood, a marriage that lasts 5 years is pretty rare. On December 22, Madonna and Guy Ritchie will celebrate their 5th anniversary and they intend to do it in style. A source told British newspaper, the People, “Madonna and Guy have both been so busy lately they decided to do something really special for their anniversary. Madge has been all over the world promoting her new single and album and has had a really hectic time.”
When your wife has everything, you have to get creative when anniversaries roll around. Thus, Guy plans on wowing his wife by renting the castle in which they were wed for a romantic weekend without the kids. The castle, Skibo, is located in the Scottish highlands. “Skibo Castle is the perfect place for the couple to celebrate because it's where their married life began. And it's the perfect place for romance,” said the source for the People.
