Robert Pattinson to play the lead in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis.

British actor Robert Pattinson will play the lead in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis.

Pattinson replaces Colin Farrell as the lead. "Cosmopolis," is written and directed by David Cronenberg and is based on a novel by Don DeLillo.

"Cosmopolis" follows a multi-millionaire on a 24-hour odyssey across Manhattan. Pattinson will play the asset manager who loses all his wealth over the course of one day.

Marion Cotillard will play his wife.
