J.J. ABRAMS TO TAKE ON DARTH VADER IN STAR WARS VII
Moviemaker J.J. ABRAMS is heading for a galaxy far far away after reportedly signing on to direct the seventh STAR WARS film.
The Force appears to be with the Star Trek director as multiple industry sources report he's the man to pick up where George Lucas left off, after handing over his sci-fi franchise to Disney last year (12).
Abrams previously insisted he wasn't interested in the Star Wars job, telling Empire magazine, "I quickly said that because of my loyalty to Star Trek, and also just being a fan, I wouldn't even want to be involved in the next version of those things. I declined any involvement very early on. I'd rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming, rather than being involved in the minutiae of making them."
Star Wars: Episode 7 will be released in 2015 with Lucas serving as creative consultant.
