PENELOPE CRUZ TO MAKE PASSION INDIA FILM
Actress PENELOPE CRUZ has bought the rights to the book PASSION INDIA and plans to indulge her love of BOLLYWOOD by turning it into a film.
The Volver star purchased the rights to the novel after falling in love with the story of a Spanish flamenco dancer who marries former ruling Maharaja, Jagatjit Singh, and becomes a princess at 18.
Cruz is a huge fan of Hindi films and wants to shoot the future project in India where the novel, by Spanish author Javier Moro, is set.
She tells The Times of India, "India is a culturally strong country and very traditional. Bollywood is now making its mark and people in Hollywood want to work with the Indian stars and in Bollywood too. I am a great fan of Indian cinema and I would love to work with Shah Rukh Khan. I have the movie rights to a book and we are going to shoot the movie in India."
