Prince William and Kate Middleton married in London's Westminster Abbey as hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets, watched by an estimated global television audience of 2 billion.

Following the ceremony, the newly married couple left the church in an open-air state landau carriage to drive to Buckingham Palace.
