MILEY CYRUS' ALLEGED STALKER ESCAPES CHARGES
A man accused of harassing MILEY CYRUS will not face charges for attempted stalking after a grand jury ruled there was insufficient evidence to indict him.
Mark McLeod, 53, was arrested twice this summer (09) for hounding the Disney star on the Georgia set of her latest movie The Last Song.
He was taken into custody in August (09), just weeks after he was cautioned by cops in June (09) for making "inappropriate comments" to young Cyrus fans.
McLeod had also told officers he was engaged to the young star and that she sent him secret messages via her TV show, Hannah Montana.
Judge Steven Scheer branded McLeod "a danger" to Cyrus and her young fans when the suspect appeared in court to face counts of attempted stalking, obstruction of a police officer and disturbing the peace in August (09).
But the case will go no further after a grand jury at Chatham County State Court insisted there was a lack of evidence against McLeod, who has been held in custody since 4 August (09).
The 16-year-old star was granted a temporary restraining order against the suspect that same month. (MT/WNWCZM&WNWC/KL)
