Jennifer Hudson has given birth to a boy.
The singer-and-actress delivered the tot - her first child with her fiance,
trainee wrestler David Otunga and both mother and
baby are said to be doing well.
The couple have named their baby, who weighed a healthy 7lb 14oz, David
Daniel Otunga Jr.
A source said: "Jennifer and David are thrilled. They did not know the sex
of the baby in advance - they bought blue and pink clothes beforehand. It's
a very joyous occasion for them."
David's birth comes nine months after the tragic murders of Jennifer's
mother, brother and nephew.
The Oscar winner's friends have previously revealed they hope the baby will
help her overcome the tragedy.
Her 'Dreamgirls' co-star Anika Noni Rose said: "I just hope that a baby will
bring her joy each day and the ability to come back to her wonderful self.
"It's been a harrowing year for her and I hope that she finds comfort, joy
and support and that she can move forward with her new baby."
Anika also insisted the 27-year-old star would have no problems adapting to
parenthood.
She said: "Jennifer will be a great, amazing and loving mom. Having seen her
with babies myself, that baby of hers is going to have a good time and be
much loved.
"She loves babies and now that she going to be a mother herself this
experience is going to be fun and rewarding for her. She will have no
problems taking on the responsibilities."
