MICHAEL JACKSON’S WORST NIGHTMARE COMES TRUE
MICHAEL JACKSON’S WORST NIGHTMARE COMES TRUE
On July 1, it was announced that Michael Jackson’s will had named the star’s beloved mother, Katherine, as the guardian of Michael’s three kids. But his father, Joseph Jackson, was the person publicly professing to caring for Prince Michael I, Paris Katherine Michael and Prince Michael II. Now Michael’s closest friends are stepping forward to contest the guardianship, saying the singer never intended for his father to be involved in the kids’ lives. “I know that Michael would never have wanted his children with Joe — that would be the last thing he would’ve ever wanted,” an insider reveals to Life & Style.
While Joe maintains a separate home in Las Vegas, he also spends plenty of time at the family compound in Encino, Calif. “The kids will have some exposure to Joe,” Stacy Brown, a family friend and co-author of Michael Jackson: The Man Behind the Mask, tells Life & Style.“ He’s always been allowed to see his grandchildren. I think the main cause for concern would be Joe exploiting the kids for financial gain.”
“Prince I, Paris and Prince II were his life,” Michael’s longtime pal Dieter Wiesner tells Life & Style. “He made breakfast for them — a lot of people don’t know this side of Michael. They were the most important thing in his life.” Cherilyn Lee, the King of Pop’s one time personal nurse, agrees that her old boss was the consummate doting dad. “He’s the most famous person in the world, but with those kids he was just a loving parent,” Cherilyn tells Life &Style. “The kids loved him so much, so very much.” The same can’t be said about the three children’s relationship with their grandfather, though. “I think Joe didn’t really have feelings for Michael’s kids,” Michael’s pal Dieter says.
“Michael would’ve been concerned about his father raising his kids,” Ron Alexenburg, who dealt with Joe when he wooed Michael from Motown to Epic Records in the late 1970s, tells Life & Style. “As I understand it, Michael’s father isn’t even in the will. That should tell you something. I don’t think Michael ever made peace with his father.”
