DENISE RICHARDS: WHY I HAD THREE BOOB JOBS
There’s a reason Denise Richards is only now talking about having gotten her chest size increased twice, then later reduced: She’d never been asked about it before. “The only reason I came out to Howard Stern was because he asked, and I was honest,” Denise tells Life & Style about her admission on Howard’s radio show on June 4. “No one’s ever asked.”
But on June 12, she opened up even more, giving Life & Style the exclusive details on all her surgeries — and a warning to young girls about rushing into enhancing their assets. “I wish I’d waited,” says Denise, 38. “I wish I hadn’t done it. There are so many things that enhance your chest these days without surgery.”
L&S: Why did you first have surgery?
Denise: I was 19 years old. I had a roommate who had hers done, and she looked
amazing. I’d always been an A-cup, and I wanted to be a little bit bigger but not huge. I’m a size 0, so anything bigger than a B-cup looks a little funny on me. But I ended up being a full C.
L&S: Was there any complications?
Denise: I had scar tissue. The actual implants got hard and ended up being too big. So I had them redone. After several consultations, the doctor who screwed up put in what he wanted. I ended up being a D-cup. It was too big for my body, so I couldn’t wear certain things. So after I did James Bond [she starred in The World Is Not Enough in 1999] and the press tour, I downsized.
L&S: Do you have any regrets?
Denise: Yeah, the doctor [who enhanced her, though she won’t reveal the doc’s identity]. If I were doing it again, I’d check with other girls and see several doctors. I went about it the wrong way and paid a price. But I’m not ashamed.
L&S: Are you content now?
Denise: I’m happy now. A lot of people were surprised to hear about my chest now, that they aren’t real, because you can’t tell. I just wanted a B, and that’s what I’ve got now — the size fits my body.
