Leona Lewis has fled her US mansion after fearing she was being stalked.
The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer – who only moved into the £4 million Hollywood
property last week – has returned to the UK after being left shaken when she
was followed home from the shops by a man.
A source said: “Leona was completely unsettled by this and was pretty
relieved to get back to the house safely. But when she looked out of the
window later the man was still there, staring right at her. It freaked Leona
out big time. She feared she was being stalked.”
The 24-year-old British star felt so uncomfortable in her new home she had
electronic gates and CCTV security cameras installed with a direct link to
her local police station.
But despite all these new security features, friends say the alleged
incident was the final straw for homesick Leona.
The source added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “Right from the
beginning, the place didn’t feel right. Every night Leona was on the phone
to friends saying that she was lonely and not enjoying rattling around a
huge house by herself.
“Friends came round to sleep over and keep her company but after she saw the
man staring at her through the window Leona decided she’d had enough, and
jumped on a plane back to the UK.”
Now the star – who found fame on the talent show ‘X Factor’ in 2006 – has
asked music mogul Simon Cowell to find work for her boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa
in the US, to keep her company.
Leona is not the only star to have been stalked recently.
A man in the US was arrested in February for allegedly following singer
Celine Dion and ‘Womanizer’ star Britney Spears threatened to cancel her
current tour after she allegedly received a string of death threats.
