Anna Friel is to star in the stage version of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'.
The 'Pushing Daisies' actress has met with producers to discuss taking on
the role of Holly Golightly, the part made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the
1961 movie.
Her representative said: "It's being talked about."
However, the planned London stage production - which will be directed by
Sean Mathias - will be based more on the original novella by Truman Capote
than the film version.
In the screenplay, several characters were snubbed and it was never fully
revealed how Holly and her friends earned their livings in New York's
Manhattan.
In the stage show, playwright Samuel Adamson has made it clear Holly isn't
as innocent as she seems and is in fact a prostitute, like many of her
friends.
Adamson has also taken it back to its original 1940s setting, unlike the
film, which was set in the 1960s.
The show will be based around the story of a one-year friendship between
Holly and an unmanned narrator.
The production is in the early stages, and the venue and other cast members
have yet to be decided.
