Jennifer Love Hewitt is thrilled to be 30.

The 'Ghost Whisperer' star – who turned 30 in February - is happy for the first time since she split from her former fiance Ross McCall in January.

Asked if she is finally over the break-up, the actress said: "I am. I'm getting there. I turned 30. That helps a little bit once you get out of your 20s. You can breathe for a second."

But Jennifer – who is reportedly dating her 'Ghost Whisperer' co-star Jamie Kennedy – admits her life is far from perfect.

She added to America’s OK! magazine: "I would like to feel much better in my skin. But I think I'll be OK. I'm happy. I am, actually."

Jennifer's friends recently revealed she was "having a tough time" coping with the breakdown of her engagement.

A source said: "She is usually very bubbly, but she is more quiet and seems sad. She usually hangs out with the crew between takes, but now she is only hanging out with her bodyguard.

"She is always so professional. She would never even think to miss a day of work because of personal problems."

Jennifer and the 32-year-old 'Band of Brothers' actor got engaged in November 2007 after two years together.
