Geri Halliwell is engaged to a man she has known for just two months.
The former Spice Girls star – who has a two-year-old daughter Bluebell from
a previous relationship – is set to tie the knot with shipping tycoon
Fabrizio Politi, who she began dating in December after they met in a
nightclub in Florence, Italy.
A spokesperson for Geri – who has previously dated singer Robbie Williams
and TV presenter Chris Evans – said: “We are delighted to announce the
engagement of Geri Halliwell and Fabrizio Politi.
“As a token of their commitment to each other Fabrizio presented Geri with
an engagement ring over the festive season.”
Despite the happy news, the couple are in no rush to tie the knot.
The spokesperson added: “There are no immediate plans for marriage as the
couple are enjoying their engagement.”
Friends of Geri say she is “ecstatic” about the news, calling him ‘The One’
and telling pals: “We are so happy. He constantly makes me smile. I could
not be any happier.”
Geri and Fabrizio are already believed to be preparing to start a family
together, after the singer was impressed with how well he bonded with
Bluebell.
A source said: “Fabrizio makes Geri blissfully content. Geri is desperate
for another brother or sister for her daughter and to have a man in her life
who can be a father to them. It feels right.”
The Italian businessman is believed to have proposed to Geri with a stunning
£220,000 diamond ring.
Geri and Fabrizio sparked rumours they were engaged just weeks after meeting
after the 36-year-old star was seen browsing men’s engagement rings at an
upmarket London jewellery store.
