A thief has reportedly stolen more than $10,000 (£6,800) worth of jewellery from Queen Latifah's villa on the Caribbean island of Tobago.

"Several searches are being carried out and the police are trying to have the jewellery returned to Queen Latifah," said acting police commissioner James Philbert. "Investigators said the larceny seems to be an inside job and efforts are being made round the clock to make a breakthrough."

Latifah, real name Dana Elaine Owens, reportedly discovered that the jewellery was missing after returning to her villa.
