Britney Spears’s father officially given permanent control of her finances
Britney Spears’s father Jamie and her attorney Andrew Wallet have
officially been given permanent control of her finances.
The conservatorship over the pop star legally began on January 5, according
to court papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court.
Jamie is also sole conservator of his daughter’s personal matters.
The papers state Britney is “substantially unable to manage her financial
resources or to resist fraud or undue influence” and is “unable properly to
provide for his or her personal needs for physical health, food, clothing,
or shelter”.
They also state Jamie has “the power to restrict and limit visitors by any
means”.
Jamie was initially granted a permanent conservatorship over Britney in
October, and a court-appointed attorney for the singer confirmed she had no
objections to the arrangement.
Jamie was put in control of his daughter’s life last year following her
public breakdown.
