Amy Winehouse’s husband has filed for divorce.
Blake Fielder-Civil – who is currently serving a jail term for grievous
bodily harm and perverting the course of justice – has reportedly instructed
lawyer Henri Brandman to begin proceedings on the grounds of Amy’s alleged
adultery after he became infuriated over pictures of her cavorting on
holiday in St. Lucia with actor Josh Bowman.
According to the MailOnline website, Blake is expected to ask for half of
the singer’s estimated £10 million fortune in a settlement.
Amy was rumoured to have taken steps to protect her earnings last November
amid concerns from her representatives.
The 'Rehab' singer's father Mitch is believed to have had a secret meeting
with legal experts to find a way to keep her estimated assets safe if the
couple divorced.
A source close to the singer said discussions were "productive", adding:
"There was panic in her team that Blake could get access to Amy's money.
"This cannot be allowed to happen. Mitch is leading the way but Amy is fully
aware of what is happening."
News of the divorce proceedings comes as Amy admitted she had given up drugs
because of her relationship with Josh – and revealed she had “forgotten I’m
even married” to Blake.
She explained: “I’ve finally escaped from hell. I’m in love again and I
don’t need drugs. Look at me, I’m glowing.”
