In the new issue of Shape magazine, Jamie-Lynn Sigler talks about starting fresj
After eight years of playing Meadow on HBO’s The Sopranos, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, 27, was ready for a little change when the series ended in 2007. This didn’t just mean new acting jobs (she has a recurring guest spot on HBO’s Entourage), it also meant reinventing her fitness and eating habits.
Spice up your sweets “I used to indulge my sugar cravings with cupcakes, but I’ve discovered a healthier option from a stand at my local farmers’ market. It’s a sweet-spicy mixture of cut fruit with lime juice and chili pepper. I reach for it when I want something sweet. It’s satisfying and good for me.”
Don’t be so focused on winning “I’m very competitive by nature. But recently, I’ve started going to the driving range and hitting golf balls for an hour or so. I’m not playing against anybody and I don’t care too much about my swing, which makes it therapeutic and relaxing.”
Embrace your uniqueness “I suffered from an eating disorder in the past, but over the years I’ve become comfortable in my own skin. When I’m out with a group of people, I keep in mind that I’m unique—and that (not my weight) makes me special. It takes the pressure off because I’m not comparing myself to others.”
