Coldplay have split up “six or seven” times while on their current tour.
When the British rock group – frontman Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny
Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion - perform badly
they often argue and threaten to go their separate ways, but always end up
apologising to each other.
Chris said: “We have split up on this tour. Every time we do, we get back
together about 20 minutes later – we don’t even have time to announce it!
It’s probably happened six or seven times.
“Each time we say, ‘This is it! This is the last show!’ But then you have a
fun show and everyone shuts up.”
The 31-year-old singer is usually the one who suggests the foursome
break-up, because he doesn’t take criticism well.
Chris – whose group have sold over 40 million albums worldwide - added to
Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “To be honest, whenever we have any bad
news, I always quit for about 10 minutes. I get depressed about something –
a concert didn’t go well or that person said something terrible. But then
the rest of the band will say, ‘It’s OK, we’ll carry on.’ ”
