She doesn't care who won the election. The Veep thing was just a stepping stone anyway. Sarah Palin is a stone's throw from her lifelong dream of being a star ... without having to know the difference between a continent and a country.
She played her role well. She was meek and humble when she needed to be, strong and sassy when challenged. Through it all, Sarah Palin never lost sight of the ultimate goal: Her name in lights. Her face on TV and magazine covers. Sarah wants to be the next talk show queen. Can you imagine her having a regular spot on Good Morning America or The View? Maybe a hunter's corner or a series on how to chase an animal to exhaustion before blowing its brains out. I hear she's really good at that.
But did she help the Republican party, or women in politics, with her uneducated and awkwardly clumsy attempt to gain popular acceptance? On the contrary, I think her presence, and her unfortunate sound bites, helped sink McCain's ship. If she had had more preparation (inside sources say she was not a big fan of debriefings by McCain staffers) and more polish they might have had a chance. And now she'll go on to write a book, maybe host a short-lived show, and make a million bucks. She may never have to go back to Alaska again.
