MARK WAHLBERG TALKS TO BEN LYONS ABOUT “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE,” HIS CAREER, AND BEING A FATHER
MARK WAHLBERG TALKS TO BEN LYONS ABOUT “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE,” HIS CAREER, AND BEING A FATHER ON E!'s “DAILY 10”
Actor Mark Wahlberg chats with E!'s Ben Lyons about the send-up of him on “Saturday Night Live,” his career and being a father
When Lyons asks Wahlberg when his interest in talking to animals began, Wahlberg says: “Oh god. Say hi to your mother for me, will you? I didn’t see ‘Saturday Night Live’ unfortunately. I haven’t been a huge fan since the Piscopo/Eddie Murphy days when it was really funny. I just wish it had lived up to the Sarah Palin thing. It just wasn’t that good.”
When Lyons asks if there’s a role Wahlberg would like to reprise, he says: “Well I want to play a villain again like ‘Fear.’ I would say ‘Boogie Nights,’ but that was up until I had kids. Now I have a lot of explaining to do. I don’t want them to ever see that movie.”
Wahlberg talks about his family life and being a father: “Fantastic, yeah. Chaotic, but fantastic. I’m the youngest of nine, so I think the more the chaotic the more comfortable I feel. But there are days where it’s trying, you know. It’s great for me. I’ll have as many as she can handle.”
Wahlberg is working on cultivating a close relationship with his infant son: “You know me and my dad had a very special relationship…I remember him screaming a lot at my other brothers and sisters. ‘Cause they were older than me and so they were already getting into a lot of trouble running the streets. But me and my dad had a very special relationship so I’m trying to create that with my son now.”
