Anne Hathaway nominated for 18th Annual Gotham Independent Film Award
Anne Hathaway and her ‘Rachel Getting Married’ co-stars have been nominated for Best Ensemble Performance at the 18th Annual Gotham Independent Film
Awards.
The brunette beauty is expected to attend the prestigious ceremony in New York on December 2.
Anne and her co-stars face competition from Scarlett Johansson, Penelope
Cruz and Rebecca Hall – who have been nominated in the same category for
their roles in Woody Allen’s upcoming movie ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ - as
well as the cast of movies ‘Ballast’, 'Synecdoche, New York' and ‘The
Visitor’.
Michelle Byrd, the Executive Director for non-profit film organisation IFP
who run the awards, said: “2008 has proven to be an extremely strong year
for an immensely diverse group of filmmakers tackling a range of subjects
and forms in new and dynamic ways.”
Other categories include Best Feature, Breakthrough Actor, Breakthrough
Director, Best Documentary and Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You.
