Russell Crowe and Sienna Miller are finally set to start work on ‘Nottingham’ after it was postponed earlier this year.
The film – a new take on the legend of Robin Hood, with the ‘Gladiator’ star
playing a good Sherriff of Nottingham - can now go into production after
problems with the script were resolved.
Director Ridley Scott was said to be furious over the project’s delay, which
was also rumored to be extended by a proposed actors’ strike and the fact
the forest location was not green enough.
The film is also set to star ‘The Dark Knight’ actor Christian Bale,
although it is not clear whether he will be playing Robin Hood or King
Richard.
‘American Gangster’ star Russell has been training vigorously for the part,
which will see him embroiled in a love triangle with Sienna’s Maid Marion
and the thieving archer.
A rumored twist may also see the actor play a double role.
Sienna has previously admitted she is thrilled to be part of the project.
She said: “It's the most exciting news in the world. I couldn't have a
better part in the film."
