BROOKE SHIELDS TALKS ABOUT WORKING ON THE SECOND SEASON OF “LIPSTICK JUNGLE” AND MOTHERHOOD

Brooke Shields talks about working on the second season of “Lipstick Jungle” and motherhood on E!s “Daily 10”

Shields is excited to be working on the second season of “Lipstick Jungle”: “It's unbelievable to be a part of a renewed second season show and to be invited back. We're all just sort of pinching ourselves like ‘We're part of a show. We're part of a show.’ It's exciting, especially in this day in age where it's hard to get a show on the air let alone get it picked up.”

Shields enjoys filming on location in New York: “I think that there is a definite respect for New York City and what that brings to the show as the backdrop and then also as another character. And then it's in this high fashion world so we are constantly in fashion and trying to keep these characters as current as possible so that's fun.”

Movie executive Wendy Healy, the character Shields plays in the series, is made up of a combination of traits from women Shields has met over the years: “Wendy is more of a hybrid of a lot of the executives that I run into. She's not just one, she's sort of an amalgam of these different, the essence of so many of these women that I've seen. I don't feel like she is really ever succeeding in any area of her life fully.”

Shields speaks about her need to work in order to be fulfilled and a good parent to her children: “I'm a mom and I think that there's always that once you become a parent, well mom I would say mostly, you then have two jobs. It's not as if you still have your job and then you sort of just get to have kids. It's sort of all of a sudden it all falls on you and you have to have time management, doing things all at once ...I have found that without a vocation you lose yourself and not be as fulfilled as the kind of parent you want to be.”

Shields and her husband work hard to spend time together as a family: “My husband travels back and forth. He's sort of the one racking up all the miles. I've got the babies here and it's just a so full on schedule that I just can't really travel. You sort of make the most of your time and you don't really sleep a lot. Not a lot of sleep happening lately.”

Shields talks about family life: “You know I don't think it ever feels right, you know like ‘ahh this is perfect.’ Enough of this and enough of this and the kids are just happy and this, I don't think you ever find that. You just constantly have to keep juggling it and hopefully not drop any of the balls.”
