Britney Spears’ mother wants to reunite the singer with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Lynne Spears, who describes her former son-in-law as “kind hearted” and “down to earth” in her new book, is working hard to convince Britney and Kevin to give their relationship another chance for the sake of their two children.

The estranged spent time together as their sons Jayden James and Sean Preston celebrated their birthdays earlier this month and Kevin is said to have told Britney he still has feelings for her.

A source said: “Kevin has apologized to Britney for his failings as a husband and said he wanted a fresh start. He confessed she is the love of his life, his soulmate and was sorry things went so wrong between them.”

Britney, 26, is thrilled by 30-year-old Kevin’s apology and feels she is finally getting her personal and private life back on track.

The source added to the National Enquirer magazine: “Not only is her career going well but it looks like her love life might be too. Britney never got over Kevin and she hopes this is the first step towards them reconciling. She knows a lot has happened but at least she knows he loves her.”
