Meg Ryan doesn't think it is possible to have a successful career and a successful relationship.
The actress - whose marriage to Dennis Quaid failed when she had an affair
with her 'Proof of Life' co-star Russell Crowe in 2000 - has never
understood how some women can balance both their personal and professional
lives.
She said: "It's very difficult to be a career person and have a
relationship. I didn't succeed at doing it at all. It's incredibly hard.
"I think you have to figure out some way of keeping all of those
capabilities and requirements in your life in balance."
Meg - who is famous for starring in romantic comedies including 'Sleepless
in Seattle' and 'When Harry Met Sally' - also revealed turning 40 six years
ago has not had a major effect on her life.
Meg, who has a 15-year-old son Jack Henry with Dennis and an adopted
three-year-old daughter Daisy True, added to Britain's Hello! magazine: "I
just don't feel turning 40 is seminal or major in any way. I like my life
right now, I really like it. Whatever it's taken to get here, I appreciate."
