The ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ actor shunted a female driver’s Lancia Ypsilon from
behind with his large saloon while out in Pennabilli, Italy.
He accepted full blame for the accident and left the surprised woman a
replacement vehicle with a note of apology attached to the windscreen.
It read: “I’m so sorry. Hope you’ll forgive me. George Clooney.”
This is not the first motoring accident for the 47-year-old heartthrob.
Last September, Clooney was rushed to hospital after a car knocked him and
then-girlfriend Sarah Larson off his motorbike.
The star suffered a fractured rib and burns, while Larson broke her foot.
A spokesman for the actor insisted it was the fault of the Mazda driver
involved while the accused claims the ‘Syriana’ actor was attempting to
overtake him on the right, a manoeuvre banned in New Jersey where the
accident happened.
