Fergie cast as prostitute Saraghina in 'Nine'
The Black Eyed Peas singer - real name Stacy Ferguson - has been cast as
prostitute Saraghina in 'Nine' and says she is thrilled she will be able to
observe Oscar-winning legends Daniel Day-Lewis and Marion Cotillard on set.
She said: "I'm speechless. I'm definitely going to be a sponge on set.
"I want to pick up on everything that all these brilliant actors are
bringing to the table.
"I'm probably going to be the quietest that I've ever been while working
just because I want to watch and learn."
Fergie - who had minor roles in 'Poseidon' and 'Grindhouse' - says she is
excited about the challenges starring in a musical bring, including a duet
with Daniel Day-Lewis' character Guido.
She added: "Saraghina is basically a prostitute on the beach. She introduces
Guido to the world of sexuality. It's a very strong song. I'm just thrilled
I get to play a character. I'm singing, but I'm not singing as myself.
"I'm going to be singing as a character, and that's what's really exciting
to me."
'Nine' - based on the Broadway musical of the same name - begins shooting in
October.
