The US Attorneys Office wants Wesley Snipes in police custody following his conviction for tax offenses.

The actor was given a 3-year prison term in April for 'wilfully failing to file tax returns' between 1999 and 2001.

He was released on bail by Judge William Terrell Hodges while he appealed the sentence.

'We want him in custody,’ spokesman Steve Cole says.

‘He's been convicted by a jury. He has been sentenced to 3 years and he should be in custody.’
