Seven items of Britney Spears’s clothing are being offered to the public
The garment carries the line ‘I Love You Grandma’ which was scrawled by
Britney when she wore it while appearing in ‘The New Mickey Mouse Club’ as a
child.
It also features the signatures of her co-stars, Justin Timberlake and
Christina Aguilera.
In total, seven items of Britney’s clothing are being offered to the public
by online auctioneers Gotta Have It! but the T-shirt is expected to generate
the most interest.
Gotta Have It! owner Ed Kosinski commented: "Something like that has never
come up for auction before. We expect it to go for between $15,000 and
$20,000."
The other Britney items – which were provided by Tri Star Sports and
Entertainment group on the 26-year-old’s behalf – include costumes from her
‘Drive Me Crazy’ and ‘Oops, I Did it Again’ tours, a blue and white Santa
dress she wore in a Christmas Pepsi ad in 2000, and the orange coat and
trousers she wore to the Billboard Music Awards earlier that year.
Some of the proceeds will go to charity.
Also included in the Rock and Roll Pop Art auction are Marilyn Monroe’s
jeans from her film ‘River of No Return’, which had been a gift to Britney
from designer Tommy Hilfiger.
The jeans are expected to top the predicted bids for Britney’s clothes, and
could fetch at least $60,000.
