Pierce Brosnan admits he lost his macho image while filming new movie 'Mamma Mia!'.
The former James Bond star says singing and dancing for his role as Sam
Carmichael in the big-screen version of the Abba-inspired musical did little
to confirm his status as a tough guy.
He said: "I'm the last person you would expect to see pouncing around in
platform shoes, tights and sequins. We had to do all these camp, dainty
little moves and try to look butch. That was a challenge."
Brosnan's co-star Colin Firth also admits his reputation was put on the line
and he never had any ambition to star in a camp musical based on the hits of
the successful Swedish band.
Firth, who plays Harry Bright in the movie, revealed on British TV show 'The
Mamma Mia! Story': "Very few straight males of my generation would have put
their hands up and claimed to have been an Abba fan in the 70s. In fact if I
had a crystal ball in 1976, and seen this is sort of the thing I'd end up
doing, I probably would have put a bullet through my head."
