Despite hoping to pen a Broadway show, the Genesis singer “doesn’t approve”
of musicians allowing their songs to be used on stage.
He said: “I would like to do a Broadway musical, well, not even Broadway,
just a musical.
“I wouldn’t use my own songs, I don’t really approve of that. I don’t think
it’s something I would want to get involved in.”
Phil wrote the soundtrack for the 1999 animated movie ‘Tarzan’, and had a
heavy involvement in the 2006 Broadway theatre production, in New York,
writing 11 new songs for the stage adaptation.
