Maggie Gyllenhaal says being on the red carpet is "unbearable".
The 30-year-old actress - who wore a revealing backless black jumpsuit to
the European premiere of 'The Dark Knight' - has had to learn to ignore
people's catty comments about her clothes.
Speaking about her premiere preparations, Maggie - who plays leading lady
Rachel Dawes in the film - she says: "To be honest it takes a while
to get ready and a lot of thought. But the amount of scrutiny is sometimes
unbearable.
"This time I've learned - I'm not looking at any pictures, I'm not paying
attention to anything anyone says about me because it hurts sometimes. I
always just wear what I think is beautiful."
She also revealed she will be voting for her late co-star Heath Ledger to
win a posthumous Oscar for his portrayal of The Joker in the movie.
She added: "In order to be a good actor you have to find a place where you
are free but it's very unusual to be absolutely free in the way he was in
this movie. It was so inspiring working with him, it was such a pleasure. In
a way I feel funny thinking about Oscars when he isn't alive, but at the
same time, I'm a member of the Academy and I'll vote for him."
