Leonardo DiCaprio develops two exclusive timepieces with Jaeger-LeCoultre
The activist actor - who campaigned for people to be more ecologically aware
in his documentary 'The 11th Hour' - has worked with the Swiss company to
create the 'Time to Care' programme, with profits from the watches going to
the Leonardo DiCaprio fund, which is part of the California Community
Foundation.
Leonardo said: "We all have to do our part to raise awareness about global
warming and the problems we as a people face in promoting a sustainable
environmental future for our planet."
The first of the two watched is a unique Master Compressor Extreme Lab, a
one-of-a-kind timepiece featuring carbon fibre and titanium casing with an
automatic tourbillion, two time zones and comes complete with an engraving
of the actor's signature on the back. It is valued at $300,000.
It is also the same watch Leonardo wore to the premiere of 'The 11th Hour',
which focused on the state of the world's natural environment.
The second watch is a limited edition Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2, which is
made of platinum and was designed for the 175th anniversary of
Jaeger-LeCoultre, and is valued at $400,000.
