Coldplay top the UK and US singles chart.

The British rockers saw their track ‘Viva La Vida’ go straight in at number
one on both sides of the Atlantic, while their fourth LP ‘Viva La Vida or
Death and All His Friends’ retained the top spot in the UK album chart.
The feat was achieved purely on download sales in both the US and UK as no
hard copies are yet on sale.
The band’s drummer Will Champion said: "We are thrilled to have our first
number one single in the UK.
"And to be number one on both sides of the Atlantic makes it all the more
special. Fingers crossed for the quadruple."
