Before moving to the hospital, her days were taken up in the pursuit of inner peace and wellbeing.
The routine includes soothing foot massages , strolls in the olive groves of their rented £35million and relaxing naked swims with 44-year-old Pitt in one of two outdoor pools.
Still she is not preparing for the births in the calm and peaceful frame of mind she so meticulously planned for.
Instead, she is stressed, fearful and obsessed that something is going to go wrong at the last minute.
Angelina has been plagued with health problems during her pregnancy
She has had running battles with the French authorities and medical staff over red tape and her 'absurd' demands (which are said to include hoping for a change to French law to allow her Beverly Hills obstetrician Dr Jason Rothbart to deliver the babies).
She has also fallen out with the hospital in Monaco where she had planned to have the twins.
Jolie is reported to have insisted the renowned Princess Grace clinic be turned into a virtual fortress with her military-trained security force - which amounts to a small private army - practically taking it over.
