Now that gay marriage has been legalized in California, the nets are rife with speculation on which celebrity couple will be next to take their vows. For some reason Queen Latifah and her "personal trainer/assistant" are getting a lot of play as the next I-doers, but I have my doubts. Latifah won't even admit the relationship's existence.
The Enquirer was the first to "break" the story that Queen Latifah is making plans to legally marry Jeannette Jenkins, who everyone knows is her longtime girlfriend. They seem to have a good thing going; just last year Latifah gave Jeannette a brand new Range Rover and surprised her by having it delivered to the restaurant where they were dining.

But as close as the couple seems to be, it's not something that Queen Latifah has ever acknowledged publicly. Most famously she told Essence two years ago that "If I’m not going to tell you what guy I’m dating, I sure wouldn’t tell you I’m dating a girl.” So would someone so private make such a public declaration? It seems out of character, but she might have ulterior motives: Latifah has expressed a desire to adopt a child; a stable home life and committed relationship will go a long way toward achieving that goal.
