John Stamos , who plays Dr. Tony Gates on ER, says that he won’t be spinning off his character into a new series, OK reports. John Stamos won’t be spinning off his ER character into a new series “[I’ve] never offered but there’s been talk about that,” he tells Extra. “I’m really having a great time doing the show and we’re still cranking out good quality. So, I think when they’re done, I’m ready to go off into the sunset.”
