Charlize Theron is disappointed that latest outing In The Valley of Elah did not perform as well as hoped at the box office, NOW reports.

Charlize Theron frustrated

She said she is frustrated that more films are not being written with strong roles for women.

She is quoted as saying: "I asked Michael Seitzman, who wrote North Country, 'Why don't you write these kind of stories more; these roles for women?' "He said, 'There isn't the demand for it.'

"It's not necessarily Hollywood's fault. People don't go to see these movies. I think it's a bigger problem. We've become completely fluff-obsessed."
