And I mean that in the nicest, most respectful way. Ma'am. Perhaps it's more accurate to say Anna's Chanel channeled Auntie. Perhaps it's safer to just smile and wave.
This has to be the weirdest thing I've seen Anna in since fashion week (I'm still convinced everyone dresses like a freak as an inside joke). When I read that it was Chanel, I was stunned, but I guess if anyone had a chance of making this work it'd be them. It's obvious by the cut and opulence of the fabric that it's not a bargain bin item. This most likely cost Vogue about $20,000. It probably won't be worn again but might end up in a museum or private collection.

Maybe there was an ulterior motive for Anna to wear something less flattering than usual - her daughter, Bee Schaffer, also attended, and I thought her dress was the most beautiful there. Did Anna step back to let her daughter shine? Geez, I don't know. It's just so hard to imagine her doing anything nice on her biggest night of the year.
