If Paula Abdul is right, the two Davids will be duking it out with Carly Smithson for the title of American Idol this season, LIFE & STYLE WEEKLY reports.

“David Archuleta has a pure, sweet voice,” Paula tells Life & Style. “David Cook has that real raw rocker style. And Carly, wow, she has the voice — that clean, pure voice.”

Of course, there’s always the dark horse. If Carly’s voted off, the final three could all be men, with Jason Castro sneaking in, says Paula, 45: “He continues to surprise me every week. He’s like a breath of fresh air.”

But she adds diplomatically, “I’m proud of them all. It’s not easy for any of them up there. I’m a performer. I know what it’s like to be judged.”
